I don't recall Brown's explanation of how Lennon finally turned things around and got it together. I think Brown mentions that they finally settled in Ringo's old apartment on Montague Square.and the two of them virtually cut themselves off from the outside world, rarely coming out, did a lot of heroin and in lived in a state of squalor. If I recall correctly, Brown mentions that at the time he was going through divorce proceedings with Cynthia, had no home, and was moving about from one place to another in London with Yoko.

I'm not sure how Brown's work is regarded, but nevertheless one of the main things that has stuck with me from his text over the years is his description of the state of John Lennon in summer 1968. Several years ago I read Peter Brown's book, The Love You Make: An Insider's Story of The Beatles.
